Wholesale Nursery

A family owned business, Village Green Wholesale Nursery is owned by Chris Ryan and Kim Fritz (brother and sister). Chris was educated at Eastern Kentucky University and worked closely with his Father, Gene Ryan (now deceased) of Valley Hill Nurseries in growing/nurturing nursery grown crops for over 30 years. Chris started Village Green Garden Center in Bardstown in 1980. Kim was educated at Western Kentucky University and Xavier University (Cincinnati) and has been growing, selling and marketing plant materials for many years. Chris and Kim, along with Mom (Joann Ryan) and several key employees/friends have been propagating and growing woody ornamental nursery stock for the Village Green Garden Center for several years. With the success of growing for ourselves, we made the decision to grow for other Independent Garden Centers, Landscapers and Landscape Architects.

Village Green Wholesale Nursery specializes in container grown woody ornamental trees and shrubs.

We carry shrubs in container sizes of liner, 1, 2, 3 and 7 gallons. We also grow shade trees in 7 and 15 gallon containers. Most of our larger plant materials are grown “Pot-in-Pot”. Our plants can be shipped anytime – no more waiting for early Spring or late Fall for your trees and shrubs. In addition, we grow beautiful annuals in flats as well as hanging baskets and standing planters.

Our business has been blessed - and as many in the Nursery business can attest - we couldn’t grow a thing if God hadn’t made it all possible. Only He can provide the rain, sun and nutrients that keep our plants and all of us growing healthy, strong and beautiful!
